Patrick Callahan

Patrick has 15 years of IT Program Management experience leading small-to-large scale enterprises and teams chartered to design, develop, integrate, deliver and operate complex systems. He is a Consultant at Sand Cherry Associates, one of the leading consulting firms, supporting top cable communication and media companies in the US, Canada, and Europe. Sand Cherry combines strategy, marketing, product and operations expertise to ensure clients are provided with best-in-class business strategies, developing solutions for operational issues and leading major tactical initiatives. 

Prior to Sand Cherry Associates, Patrick was an employee for the National Intelligence Community and was responsible for ensuring technology insertions into mainline acquisition programs were accomplished while protecting baseline cost, schedule, technical and operations performance. Considered by his peers to be a pragmatic "closer", his expertise spans across multiple disciplines  with a strong focus in program/portfolio management, agile software development, software engineering, integration, operations and sustainment.

• Acquisition: Program Manager responsible for delivering a new, $23M, collaborative effort across the National Intelligence Community and Department of Defense components that focuses on linking information with Activity Based Intelligence, Object Based Production and other community analytic efforts together to ensure that the decisions makers and analysts have timely and efficient access to data. Duties include evaluating execution risks, while making comprehensive recommendations to the Client. Reviews, evaluates, and assesses program requirements, documents, plans, and other related artifacts for accuracy, consistency, and compliance. Participates in major program milestones and uses expertise to identify issues and ensure sufficient requirements understanding and programmatic considerations are included.
• Cloud Computing: Program manager leading the development of five separate, parallel and distinct R&D designs to build an open "cloud native" Framework that was extensible, modular, and flexible in design specifically for Amazon AWS. The pathfinders were a best-of-breed analytic powerhouse allowing mission application developers and analysts to explore a sea of data by harnessing an ever-evolving ecosystem of open source data storage and processing engines.  Assessed risks, anticipated bottlenecks, provided escalation management, made trade-offs, balanced business needs versus technical constraints.
• Integration: Experienced systems integrator responsible for defining mission capabilities and services to meet customer objectives. Accountable for processes definition, project management, modeling, technical documentation, and high level of customer engagement. Skilled translator of customer needs into system requirements. Performed requirements analysis and capability gap analysis between vendor product and segment requirement. Assisted in the translation of architectural concepts into the development of future processes and business strategy Leads the development of key process engineering products.
• Software Development:  Oversaw design and development of applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solution. Collaborated with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of developmental, non-developmental, and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software. Ensured software standards were documented appropriately and adhered to.
