Leading the production activities of Australia's largest spring maker. With a manufacturing floor space of 7000sqm and over 80 production staff, Marsh produce 15000 custom made jobs each year using JIT methodology and supply a wide diversity of products to hundreds of Australian and overseas manufacturers. Introducing Lean and 5S has seen improvements in operations and capacity as well as cultural change with teams adopting improvements and leading change.

Ampcontrol

Manage Ampcontrol’s expansion into Brisbane and Queensland mining markets. Multifaceted role involving engineering services, electrical technician service personnel and manufacturing centre.

Selected Accountabilities

  • Expand engineering office including electrical and controls engineering functions and development of site service teams circa 50 FTE
  • Established new manufacturing centre in Brisbane

Managing the operation and engineering functions of the south terminal baggage handing teams. 24/7 Operations 365 days.

Selected Accountabilities

  • Maintenance and engineering functions, including project and capital works and preventative maintenance of baggage systems
  • Operational performance of complete baggage system
  • Co-ordinate use of CMMS and condition monitoring, identify improvements to maximise MTBF and minimise MTTR
  • Safety/people performance of South Terminal team of 30 direct employees and 100 contract staff

Management of steel production facility (locomotive and carriage wheels) Heavy manufacturing environment working on quality critical product in a high hazard operation. Unionised manufacturing shop operating 24/7 364 days.

Acting Plant manager

Seconded into plant manager role during leave and project secondment of manager, identified as successor to the role. 300FTE, $120M operation.

Selected Accountabilities

  • Reports 3 x Production Superintendents,1 x Maintenance Superintendent, indirect reports 16 x line supervisors, 343 plant operators and maintenance technicians

Achievements

  • Key role in labour and plant management reorganisation including restructure of 12 personnel resulting in saving $1.1M AUD P/A
