Vehicle Dynamics Control Engineer (11 months Internship)
With the goal of developing a fully autonomous car prototype, my main activity was to research and implement a longitudinal vehicle control algorithm with the goal of:
- reducing the number of identification parameters with respect to the current architecture
- maintaining a comfort acceleration
- achieving robustness to parameter variations.
By analyzing the state-of-the-art, I was able to identify the best available solutions and I chose to explore and implement a particular adaptive technique, being able to control the longitudinal dynamics starting from an approximate knowledge of the parameter values of a commercial vehicle. (Master Thesis work "Control design of the vehicle longitudinal dynamics").
On the technical side, I acquired a good knowledge and understanding of the vehicle (and engine) dynamics and the tools for its analysis and simulation (CarSim along with MATLAB/Simulink).
Moreover, I gained crucial personal skills such as team work, business timing and the ability to organize my work and respect imposed deadlines.
