Under the leadership of Dr. Bharat Lall, Pinnacle Hotels USA has developed a diverse portfolio of hotel properties across the United States. Since creating the company 14 years ago, Dr. Lall has led it through several business cycles. As a contrarian investor, Dr. Lall has slowly built up his company's inventory by finding opportunities to acquire properties below market value. Diversity is a Bharat Lall, MD, watchword, so the Pinnacle hotels range from budget to full-service. Pinnacle operates hotels under the Hilton, Marriott, Four Points, La Quinta, and Days Inn brand names. Dr. Lall's career as a hotelier and real estate investor is his second. As his father did before him, Dr. Bharat Lall left medicine at the age of 40 to begin a career in business.Among the most impressive purchases Pinnacle has made under Dr. Bharat Lall's stewardship, was the 2009 acquisition of the Marriott Riverside Hotel. At the time, industry experts called it a very smart move into a quality property selling below the market. He negotiated a purchase price of $19.3 million, a third less than the hotel's original development cost, said to have topped $29 million. Pinnacle continues to operate the Marriott Riverside, a 292-room hotel with a full conference center and swimming pools. In addition to operating properties, Dr. Lall has made money buying and selling, leading Pinnacle through more than 80 property transactions.Dr. Lall was trained as a physician at the University of Glasgow, earning his degree in 1979. He then spent several years teaching and working as a practicing clinician. Dr. Lall is a lifetime member of the San Diego Indian American Association, an organization founded in 1984. He has donated to the microlending organization,, and the Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Trust Fund. The Hare Krishna and BAPS charities along with the San Diego State University Library have all benefited from his generosity. Dr. Bharat Lall resides in San Diego.
