Supporting clients to propel brand growth and identity, I created custom content and messaging, media and public relations strategies, and digital marketing and social campaigns serving clients in industries ranging from health care and education to arts and culture.
Advising association leadership on brand messaging and media relations strategy, I raised the profile of the association by securing regular features for thought leadership in top-tier niche media outlets through the development of a Media RoundUp newsletter and companion interview series with university presidents across the U.S.
Directing the marketing team, I managed advertising and sponsored content production, B2B partnerships and sponsorships, designing marketing collateral supporting audience development and sales, serving clients across every industry and region served by the business magazine. Rebranded all paid products, special sections and annual magazines, overseeing four budgets. Designed one new product that increased revenue for a special section by 100% YoY.
Leading media relations, I raised the profile of the institution as the No. 1 program for advocacy in the U.S. for over a decade. In this role, I managed editorial production of the Hall of Fame video series and alumni magazine, created the award-winning "What Kind of Advocate Are You?" brand storytelling series, and designed a Journalist's Guide and media interview training program for thought leaders that drove media mentions up 400% during a 10-year period.
Advancement starts with building momentum with stakeholders. I worked on a fundraising and development plan for a world-class museum, designed a grant proposal for a program advancing opportunities for at-risk students through arts education, and built a marketing plan to serve the requirements of audience engagement for a grant-funded program blending mental wellness, the arts and education.
Marketing and brand storytelling build connections to audiences through community partnerships and B2B relationships. Highlights include creating location-specific tours tied to marketing and community outreach for a grant-driven nonprofit project linking arts and culture with mental wellness and education that resulted in new community partnerships and amplified participation.
The content marketing strategy I developed for the "What Kind of Advocate Are You?" brand storytelling series leveraged video interviews with stakeholders to build influence and engagement through social media, internal and external email marketing and media relations. This campaign helped to define the No. 1 advocacy program in the U.S. and increase social media engagement 100% YoY. The sponsored content I developed as marketing director at a magazine drove monthly revenue increases ranging from 65-100% YoY for special sections and sponsored reports.
The right marketing and communications strategies resonate, adapted to suit brand appetite for elevating innovation and expertise. This selection presents my work designing the award-winning Journalist's Guide and rebranding all paid and sponsored products at a media company.
Media and public relations strategy connects the right experts with reporters while raising credibility and reputation, converting thought leaders into newsmakers. Highlights include the Weekly Media RoundUp and Journalist's Guide and companion media interview training program that I designed to achieve regular top tier media placements and a 400% increase in media mentions for one nonprofit.
