Perform monthly sales and use tax reporting, personal property tax, unclaimed property, annual report and various business licenses for 22 states. Calculate monthly COGS for Products Division. Maintain inventory and purchasing systems while monitoring cost variances for 1500 items. Setup new items and insure the integrity of system mapping to GL accounts. Drive semi-annual physical inventory count for 43 locations, investigate variances and finalize results. Control stock locations and book inventory adjustments to insure count accuracy. Developed weekly position analysis on 3 pages that was consistently within 2% of prediction. Developed an integrated network of financial and manufacturing systems comprising of Great Plains Dynamics, Max MicroMRP, and a custom FoxPro program. Initiated, purchased and implemented a standard cost-based system for their Molding operation and utilized a job cost-based system for their Tooling operation. Supervised a staff of three including a Cost Accountant. Reviewed part performance and job profitability. Improved performance visibility which contributed to the ability to reduce labor by 50% in Molding as well as made significant achievements in inventory valuation and control. Negotiated health insurance contract which resulting in a 14% decrease in cost. Primary point-of-contact for employee relations.
