Chief Financial Officer (small business) Southampton, NJ.  Primarily responsible for the operations, financial solvency and strategic direction of a 30-year old full-service, public involvement and outreach marketing company serving the Transportation and Building Communities. Reporting to the President, my duties involve defining plans and objectives for company growth and profitability, project management, administration and project team recruiting, scope and estimate business pursuits, system implementation, treasury and capital, organizational structure and development,  networking and lead generation. I negotiate contracts ranging between $500k-$1.5M and generate creative financial solutions to motivate managers and staff in achieving operating targets. I often serve as the named Project Manager for our Company and have a strong  technical understanding of Outreach Planning and Facilitation, Urban Planning, Traffic and Feasibility Studies, and Civil/Structural Engineering Design concepts and practices used in economic development, public transportation agencies and the nation's largest Builders and Design/Build Engineering corporation's projects.  The company bids work through a public RFP process, and I am responsible for building client relationships, travel and formulating attractive proposal offers as well as qualifying the company through agency vendor qualification,  rate and overhead certification.



EMSL Analytical, Inc. - Cinnaminson, NJ

500 person environmental testing laboratory and environmental products distributor. Perform monthly sales and use tax reporting, personal property tax, unclaimed property, annual report and various business licenses for 22 states. Calculate monthly COGS for Products Division. Maintain inventory and purchasing systems while monitoring cost variances for 1500 items. Setup new items and insure the integrity of system mapping to GL accounts. Drive semi-annual physical inventory count for 43 locations, investigate variances and finalize results. Control stock locations and book inventory adjustments to insure count accuracy. Perform monthly margin analysis, inventory rollforward, month-end closing entries for Products Div. Reconcile cash accounts including credit card account for over 4000+ transactions. Negotiate LTL trucking tariff agreements and track shipping expenses. Supervise billing and manage order backlog. Coordinate with credit and collections regarding credit matters. Key-warehouse Accounting contact. Prepare various ad-hoc project analysis requiring custom database interface as required using Microsoft Query accessing several databases.


Financial Analyst

American Water Works, LLC - Cherry Hill, NJ

Maintained statistical information and Rate Library for use in efficiently filing Rate cases with the State Board of Public Utilities for $250M private water utility servicing NY and NJ. Setup and administered web-based legal document management system. Analyzed month-end revenue by customer class to ensure all routes were billed and contributed to month-end accrual review for Unbilled Revenue. Coordinated with IT to resolve any problems and investigated account statistic variances to ensure reporting integrity.


Accounting Manager

Comet Tool Company, Inc. - Pitman, NJ

Performed financial reporting and budgeting exercises reporting to the President for 110 person custom injection moldmaker and custom molder servicing the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, Healthcare and Consumer Goods markets. Developed weekly position analysis on 3 pages that was consistently within 2% of prediction. Developed an integrated network of financial and manufacturing systems comprising of Great Plains Dynamics, Max MicroMRP, and a custom FoxPro program. Initiated, purchased and implemented a standard cost-based system for their Molding operation and utilized a job cost-based system for their Tooling operation. Supervised a staff of three including a Cost Accountant. Reviewed part performance and job profitability. Improved performance visibility which contributed to the ability to reduce labor by 50% in Molding as well as made significant achievements in inventory valuation and control. Negotiated health insurance contract which resulting in a 14% decrease in cost. Primary point-of-contact for employee relations. Coordinated with external CPA concerning quarterly performance review.
