Summary

I am a skilled, energetic, and passionate individual with a diverse background of work experience, pastoral care, and community involvement. I have worked in college preparatory schools where the student body has a large variety of beliefs and cultural backgrounds. I always enjoy getting to know my students or youth, and building programs that meet their particular needs.

I have also had the opportunity to build relationships with other pastors in Regina to collaborate and plan joint youth group events. Trained in Miami by the College Board in order to implement the AP Seminar course (part of the AP Capstone Diploma program). This course focuses on identifying, evaluating, creating and communicating arguments using the QUEST Inquiry model (Question, Understand, Evaluate, Synthesize, Transform/Transmit), and seeks to increase student engagement and understanding of a topic through inquiry and authentic learning tasks.

Personal Interests

  • Experience in coaching volleyball, basketball and badminton at both High School and Middle Years level. I've acted in and helped manage theater productions in High School and Middle School.
  • I love watching or playing many sports, playing guitar in a band or by myself, getting to know people, playing nerdy board games, going on walks with my wife, drinking coffee or when possible, dreaming up and creating craft brew beer recipes.
  • I am an avid outdoor enthusiast -  I love kayaking, canoeing, fishing, day hiking and backpacking. I love to think of creative ways to utilize these passions in order to build character and life-long transferable skills with students in the outdoors. 
  • Proficient in the use of Macintosh and Microsoft operations systems and programs, and Google Education Applications. 
  • Avid reader with a particular interest in the topics of history, theology, modern and classical fiction, economics, and current social/political trends and issues.
