Career History

Alta Climbing and Fitness

Oct 2023Now

Routesetter

Starting from a front desk position where my main duties included assisting customers with inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively, and ensuring climber safety by teaching correct belay techniques. I was also responsible for assisting membership sign-ups, renewals, and cancellations. I then moved into a Routesetting position where I currently work, using rope access gear and techniques to set/remove new climbs on the walls as well as preparing the walls and resources for competitions and events. This has also required the certification and operation of an articulating aerial boom lift       (3B MEWP)

Life Time Fitness Inc

May 2019May 2024

RouteSetter/Rock Climbing Instructor

Life Time Fitness is where I took rock climbing from just a passion and a sport to a career and a creative outlet. Being a concrete-walled tape style gym, I learned much of the oldschool and commercial style setting here. I Co-Headset at the Gilbert location and eventually became sole Headsetter until being asked by the Tempe location to come set for their location. I also taught belay lessons and climbing development classes as well as recreational classes at both locations.

Cannibals Smoke Shop

Apr 2017Mar 2018

Sales Associate

Both customer service and management roles were learned at this establishment. Working at two locations and picking up their systems with ease, gave owners assurance to rely on myself to run closing shifts, alone within the first two weeks, and opening shifts alone soon after. Many common retail roles were experiences in this time such as counting drawers, receiving stock, paying invoices, and opening/locking up shop. Many tricks of the trade and inside tips about functional glass art were picked up and implemented in this position, only growing my love for the glass blower/collector community.

We Hang Christmas Lights

Team Member

At WHCL, there is endless work ethic to learn. Averaging 70+ hour weeks of full body labor, these were the hardest workers I knew. Being part of that team has definitely improved my work flow and drive to do better. Customer service was always key, as majority of customers were high profile and required nothing less than extensive precision on site to ensure their property looked even better than before. Employment ended on a work related injury that left me unable to walk, and unable to use work-related equipment. Have since recovered.

Suncoast Post-Tension and Rebar

Aug 2014Jul 2016

Sales Expeditor/Estimator

Most of my early career growth was experienced at Suncoast Post-Tension, both personally and professionally. Starting with various labor jobs (i.e. re-painting, cutting rebar, as well as loading both rebar and Post-Tension trucks) and shortly after, progressing into marketing/networking positions, creative design sales projects, and ultimately residential estimating. As a Sales Expeditor, I worked closely and personally with both the customers and sales team to compile and send bids, on a very strict schedule. As an Estimator, I learned to read construction plans and pay full attention to detail in a fast paced environment. Held 6 different positions over two years and have been consistently looking to progress and evolve my career since.

Interests

Competitive Sports - During school I played wrestling and football initially, wrestling for 6 years and playing Football for 5. Learned the balance between team sports and individual sports early on. Went on to play Paintball for 5 years and Ice Hockey for 2 seasons. These expensive sports taught the value of a hard earned dollar, and the dedication to very competitive sports.

Gaming- Strong love for video games and the opportunity to try new mechanics in the video game world. I have been gaming on both PC and console since before I could read. I am constantly competing to be the best at what I love. Very extensive knowledge of multiple entertainment systems, their games, and their individual navigation and inkterface.

Creative Design- Strongly contributing to my inspiration for setting in the climbing space, I have always enjoyed creating things. I occasionally design art in both 2d and 3d software, just for recreation.  Seeing people experience and interact with something I created is very enjoyable for me.
