Marathon County - Clerk of Courts

Perform a variety of duties related to all juvenile actions, including initiating new cases. All duties related to case management. including receiving and filing case documents. docketing from court minutes and case files, and case closing activities. Works with many Social Workers, the District Attorney's Office and Corporation Counsel.

  • Scheduling of court hearings 
  • Transfer bond conditions established during all initial court appearances from court minutes to bail bonds.
  • Worked with the Department of Social services to answer general inquires regarding court orders and open cases, coordinate temporary physical custody hearings, and draft dispositional orders.
  • Worked with the District Attorney's Office to transfer the petition and the court summons into the CCAP System and generate a new case file.
  • Coordination of information exchange with Corporation Counsel on CHIPS/Guardianship cases.

Administrative Secretary / Juvenile Court Clerk

Vilas County - Juvenile Intake

Clerical, secretarial and administrative support. Clerk for all juvenile court cases, taking minutes, preparation of all legal documents, scheduling of all court activity, and data entry in the Circuit Court Automation Project (CCAP). Data entry and maintain data base for Juvenile Intake Office. Also work with Social Workers and Corporation Counsel in regards to CHIPS, TPR and JIPS cases

  • Keeps the minutes of proceedings, including but not limited to the time the case was called, opening statements by attorneys, motions during trial, evidence presented, witnesses called, etc.
  • Takes exact minutes of all pleas and court ordered sentences . Administers oaths and swears in witnesses.
  • Provided coverage for incoming department phone calls, including routing and assistance with general inquiries.
  • Regularly works with lawyers, District Attorney’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, other County employees, litigants, and the public requiring good communication skills. Maintains effective working relationships with these people.
