    Year 6 Teacher/Special Needs Consultant Khor, Qatar Helped to open a new progressive international school for Pre-K to 8 in Al Khor, Qatar. Taught Year Six students English, Math, Social Studies and Citizenship utilizing Every Day Math, Social Studies Alive! Lucy Calkins, Six Traits Plus 1. Designed and implemented lessons to expand and explore the study of general science. Implemented the creation of and led Literacy Day, Y6 Sleep-Over, and many after school activities including volleyball, sing-along, and art club.

    Vermont Youth Conservation Corps
    Lead Instructor Richmond, VT Designed and published curriculum for an alternative High School Leadership Program at VYCC; developed lesson and work plans, learning objectives, and evaluation tools. Worked closely with school partners at CTE, surrounding community members, and VYCC instructors to implement IEP's and 504' s. Hosted a semester-long exhibit at the Vermont Folk Life Center titled" Learning with the Land" Students' sculptures and essays revealed their love of learning outdoors, their love of hard work, and their personal growth. Collaborated with community members to develop work-based“ learn to work, work to learn” semester long outdoor projects. Strengthened the leadership, work ethic, self reflection, SMART goal setting, and collaboration skills of at-risk high school students in a series of work based learning projects relating to the themes of Design and Build, Agriculture, Forestry, Watershed, and Healthy Kitchen curricula. Constructed an 80-foot bridge over a wetland area, built a 14-step stone staircase made of rocks weighing between 200-400 pounds, erected a 720 square-foot greenhouse; constructed(4) 48 square-foot raised beds for planting; and seeded, planted, harvested, and added value to the numerous crops on VYCC farm. Raised and processed over 400 chickens and donated them to food insecure families. Each student also took home a bird and CSA health care share and prepared a healthy meal for their families.

Wrote and received grants to gain four mobile computer labs(80 laptops) for the elementary school. Facilitated 6 Plus 1 Traits of Writing teacher training. Implemented a fifth grade volunteer program where students played with children at local orphanage who were in need of socialization. Created and directed“ Come Fome”, a production to raise awareness and donations for neighbors in need. Designed with students and hosted both a“ Share Your Snickerdoodles Day” and“ Where Your Giraffe Hat Day”(based on Loser by Gary Paulson)
