Designed, developed and deployed training for a blended learning environment for leaders, managers, and union employees. Program design,included both formal and informal training including Elearning, mentoring, job shadowing, just-in-time training as well as interactive simulations.

Selected Contributions:

  • Oversaw the daily direction and development of new Talent Development Assessment Strategy for entire organization.
  • Re-designed then piloted the Leadership Development Program (LDP) with a focus on delivering the company strategy and closing competency gaps identified by UP's Executive Leaders.
  • Worked with CEO, CFO, CIO, and CMO to integrate their appearances and messaging into the LDP program.

Led the implementation of global talent review processes for senior leadership in areas of Information Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Business Development.

Selected Contributions:

  • Successfully developed finance curriculum, which included Leadership Assessment specific to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) skill requirements. Organized and facilitated a five-day elite Finance Leadership Academy.
  • Recognized gaps in the skillset of finance support, then created and implemented a Trusted Business Advisor skills assessment, and deployed an individual development plan toolkit to global audience of 3500 finance employees.
  • Key player in the delivery of an Enhanced Cultural Intelligence training program, for 5500 global employees.

Commodity Trading Training Manager

Chicago, IL BP Trading Training Manager, Collaborated and led the direction of team responsible for the development and delivery of technical and soft skills utilized by commodity traders in a multi-billion dollar business. 

Selected Contributions:

  • Managed the program design, development, and implementation of the Trader Development Program, a three-year rotational program for graduate hires to qualify as commodity traders.
  • Collaborated with the University of Toronto Business School in the development of an innovative commodity trading simulation and a progressive training curriculum of both classroom and Elearning.
  • Designed gender-specific training and mentoring program targeting aspiring female traders to address the diversity gap in the business.
  • Wrote and developed The Sophomore Experience, a five-day program introducing the world of commodity trading and BP to college sophomores in order to increase access to top graduate recruits.

Senior Capability Program Manager

Directed day-to-day budget management of $2.4M for sales training, improving sales capability across seven Business-to-Business (B2B) businesses. Program design and project manager of the Marketer Institute of Excellence, which provided training and consultation to customers. Successfully trained over 4, 000 sales associates over 24 months.

  • Recipient of the 2007 BP Beacon Award winning entry by Marine Lubes, crediting improved capability to affect price increase due to Value Selling training, which improved $5M gross margin.
  • Facilitated training to 125 jobbers in Financial Strategies, Success with Dealers, and Strategic Business Planning and Market Development.
  • Key player in the successful move of the Brand, Sales, and Marketing Capability team from a centrally-funded model to a shared-service model to cover the team's $6.25M budget.

  • Achieved 89% completion rate of targeted sales and marketing classes within a 24 month period.
  • Restructured Castrol Industrial's Key Account Management process, providing better insights into the steel segment resulting in $1M gross margin gain for the account.
  • Co-developed Value Selling, Sales Manager, and Key Account Manager training courses and implemented the Key Account Manager Deep Dive Process resulting in a strategic approach to customers of all sizes across seven key businesses.
