Award: 2019 Marconi Award, “Best Radio Podcast,” for “Denied Justice”: Served on the script writing, editing, and production team for this investigative podcast with the Star Tribune. The series exposed Minnesota law enforcement’s failures to investigate certain rape cases.

Accomplishments: Wrote two “How to Help” articles on the Syrian refugee crisis, each exceeding 500,000 unique readers. (here and here). Authored a feature on refugee resettlement in Montana that was highlighted by the Solutions Journalism Network.

Accomplishments:  Received a first-place South Carolina State Press Association award for a three-part series on Dan Hiers, a local police officer accused of killing his wife before fleeing. Interviewed the victim’s family in Portuguese, resulting in deeper, more humanistic coverage than prior reports
