Pre-Clinical (Undergraduate) Pathology Teaching:
October 1984 - May 1987:
During her time as British Heart Foundation Junior Research Fellow, University of Cambridge, Dr Dinah Parums was a Demonstrator in Histopathology in the Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge, Medical Sciences Tripos & Natural Sciences Tripos, Part I & Part II General. This role also involved supervising in Pathology (Histopathology, Microbiology, Immunology & Genetics) Cambridge University, Medical Sciences Tripos & Natural Sciences Tripos Part I & Part II General for Gonville and Caius, Fitzwilliam and Emmanuel Colleges, Cambridge (30 students per year).
September 1989 to 1993:
Tutorials in Pathology (Cellular Pathology, Immunology and Microbiology) and setting of college collections, Balliol College, Wadham College and Jesus College, Oxford University (12 students per year); demonstrating practical classes, Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, Oxford University; supervising three undergraduate research projects for the Final Honours School in Physiological Sciences, Oxford University.
September 1991 to 1993:
College Lecturer in Pathology, Balliol College, Oxford. This post involved giving weekly tutorials, setting of college collections, administration and interviewing for admission.
Clinical (Postgraduate) Pathology Teaching:
July 1990 to Sept. 1993:
The post of Clinical Tutor in Pathology involved the organisation of a 10 week Laboratory Medicine Course for up to 100 first-year clinical medical students. This included organising more than 100 lectures with 20 practical classes, weekly tutorials and clinical sessions together with a seminar series entitled Advances in Pathology, which ran with the Course. Supervision of daily post-mortem attendance and participation by the students and post mortem video teaching sessions. A final written examination was organised using a pool of multiple choice questions and a practical examination in all pathology disciplines. Medical student assessment also included the production of two scientifically written case commentaries, each in pathology, and a final viva voce examination, which was attended by all the students and 40 examiners.

Teaching in the Pharmaceutical Industry:
From February 2004:
As a Principal Pharmaceutical Physician at Astrazeneca, Alderley Park, Dinah organised a monthly tutorial for biomedical scientists in human pathology, normal histology and histopathology of each system.
From 2004 until 2009, she was co-chair of the annual Molecular Histopathology Workshops for the pharmaceutical industry and Ventana, bringing together clinical pathologists, pathologists within industry and leading research scientists to present and discuss research on biomarkers and new methodologies.
