Performs complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
Positions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
Placing and starting Iv's, and injecting contrast if needed.
Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collates processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately labels film/transmit to PACS.
Loads and operates power injections for contrast media administration.
Maintains accurate patient records.
Provides care for the psychological and physical needs of patients for CT scans.
Produces high quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
Consults with radiologist when necessary to determine appropriate scanning procedure.
Check patient history for contraindications including high labs and iodine allergy.
Understanding patients anxiety and handling delicate situations with empathy to patient and family members.
Performs quality cardiac studies including CTA Coronary, CTA TAVR, CTA Watchman and CT Calcium score. Use of extreme attention to detail and knowledge of coronary anatomy.
