Clinical Nutrition

  •  Counseled patients using the Nutrition Care Process on the diabetes, cardiology, oncology, geriatrics/rehabilitation, neurosciences, gastroenterology/transplant, renal, pediatrics, neonatal intensive care, and surgical, medical, and neurology intensive care units for 31 weeks.
    • Covered rehabilitation center (70 bed unit) completing all RDN responsibilities and working collaboratively with the diet technician and the interdisciplinary team attending rounds on a daily basis for 4 weeks
  • Provided nutrition education on a weekly basis to patients attending allergy, geriatric, and transplant outpatient clinics for 9 months
  • Gained knowledge and extensive experience using EPIC and CBORD software systems 

Community Nutrition  

  • Completed 5 weeks in various community nutrition areas
    • Counseled kids aged 6-8 years old on how to manage their type 1 diabetes with diet at the American Diabetes Association Camp Can-Do
    • Provided diabetes and weight loss education to adults with type 2 diabetes at Stroger Cook County Hospital Outpatient Diabetes Clinic
    • Developed a nutrition handout regarding Parkinson's Disease and presented to 40 senior center attendees in the city of Chicago.
    • Provided a nutrition lesson regarding healthy snacking to 50 1st grade students attending HeadStart classes. 


  • Completed 200 hours of foodservice operation experience with emphasis on inpatient meal services and retail meal services in both cafeteria and restaurant style venues.
    • Developed, tested, and marketed a new menu item to be served in the hospital cafeteria while meeting nutritional, production, and cost goals.
    • Conducted a sustainability project and utilized photoshop software to categorize cafeteria products into recyclable versus compostable for use by foodservice employees.
