    INSIGHTS

"It takes ten thousand hours to truly master anything'  (Malcolm Gladwell, Outliers)

I'm often asked to qualify the transferability of my skill set to corporate functions, so the following is designed to give an overview of the core competencies acquired during 120,000+ hours experience structured through the main phases of the creative process:

Phase 1:  10,000+ hours of SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT
Competencies:  ARCHITECTING VISION & BRINGING CONCEPTS TO LIFE

    • During development, my primary responsibility is to articulate a unifying creative mission that transforms creative impulses into tangible results
    • Aligning complex information for multiple parties to achieve cohesive structures, these processes require meticulous tracking of progress (upto 40 drafts per script)

Phase 2:  10,000+ hours of DEVELOPMENTAL WORKSHOPS & PITCHES
Competencies:  RAPID PROTOTYPING & PRESENTATION SKILLS

    • Developmental workshops are the primary avenue for building compelling pitches that amplify the unique selling points of each piece of intellectual property
    • This stage requires the iterative resolution of pain points while the creative briefs are translated to new actors, demanding the synthesis of divergent approaches

    Phase 3:  10,000+ hours of FUND-RAISING & RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
Competencies:  OPPORTUNITY RECOGNITION & STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

    • Once a script is ready, the primary focus shifts to configuring the project scope to align with the capabilities of producing organizations and attract their interest
    • Securing additional funding through proposal and grant writing increases the project's appeal, while maintaining ongoing motivation within the creative ecosystem

Phase 4:  10,000+ hours of COLLABORATOR ASSESSMENT & TEAM BUILDING
Competencies:  CAPABILITY DIAGNOSIS & STRATEGIC HIRING

    • Bringing a script to life involves accurately diagnosing the strengths of each individual and committed DEI advocacy to recruit diverse top talent
    • The successful team must be seamlessly matched for complementary co-creation capabilities and optimized for organizational synergy with producing partners

Phase 5:  10,000+ hours of ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Competencies:  LEADERSHIP TRAINING & ORGANIZATIONAL TRANSFORMATION

    • Innovative projects demand the training and transformation of top teams and organizations, enabling existing competencies to evolve into new capabilities
    • By providing a unified rationale for new approaches, partnerships are forged with organizational departments to foster DEI-forward mutual value creation

Phase 6:  10,000+ hours of REHEARSALS & DESIGN
Competencies:  CULTURE BUILDING & DESIGN THINKING

    • Rehearsals, the shortest window in the production timeline, create stressors that require collaborative co-creation to unlock individual and collective productivity
    • Embracing divergent thinking and backgrounds is the secret sauce to successfully inclusive cultures where innovative approaches enrich the entire process

Phase 7:  10,000+ hours of TECHNICAL EXECUTION & PUBLIC RELATIONS
Competencies:  STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT & MEDIA SPOKEMANSHIP

    • During a phase when everything looks unfinished, effective stakeholder management and accurate implementation of feedback become paramount for success
    • Simultaneously, as the press covers the emerging production, the director takes on the responsibility of coordinating a cohesive narrative across the entire value chain

Phase 8:  10,000+ hours of PERFORMANCE MAINTENANCE
    Competencies:  CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR & TRANSFORMATIONS-AT-SCALE

    • During the months-long run of a production, maintenance of consistent quality and delivery is critical, including training replacements as the performance evolves
