A motivated and visionary business process, systems and compliance professional with strong experience in both budgeting and financial controls rooted in insolvency and business recovery. Now looking to bring my skills to areas outside my professional area and with a keen interest in free schools - especially cloud based systems and school finance, compliance and governance controls.
Qualified professional in a regulated market - strong in pragmatic demonstrable compliance and monitoring - from inception, to deployment, to ongoing and continuous improvement
As a client facing insolvency case manager I had experience of preparing Statements of Affairs and Deficiency statements across many markets.
Subsequently I managed the internal cash procedures; both testing and implementing internal controls over multi-million pounds of client transactions. Internally I prepared and managed the £1m+ annual technology budget.
Founded in 2006 in New Zealand, Xero is one of the fastest growing Software as a Service companies globally. I am a Bronze Xero bookkeeping partner and re-seller with a keen interest in cloud based / SAAS applications and their deployment to create integrated, or at least coherent, systems and processes.
Currently I provide accounting and bookkeeping support to a CoE Church, CoE Primary School (pre-opening budget) and a newly formed insolvency compliance consultancy - as well as my own small property investment portfolio.
In different aspects of my former roles I have been a People Leader, responsible for recruiting, training, developing and managing a business technology team as it grew from 2 - 20+ across multiple locations; I have been a cost centre / department manager, a compliance senior manager and a 200+ technology and change project team member
Experienced in both cold and hot physical case file reviews as well as the design, implementation and subsequent monitoring of automated, system-based reviews; also accomplished at managing External Regulatory visits
Quick to grasp business processes, to discern the mandatory kernel and evolved bureaucracy and to lead people to realise that their routine can be changed to give an improved outcome for both them and their customers
Innovative and motivated to re-design or re-work business processes to work together and make a better integrated experience; systems integrated have included single user modules to enterprise wide processes
Experience of both waterfall and agile project management approaches - from small, team and departmental-based systems & processes to European, enterprise wide applications.
IPS is the de facto business standard software used by insolvency practitioners. Over a period of 15+ years implemented and developed the firm's integration of the IPS system with the firm's ERP and other enterprise systems as well as third party data systems such as the Land Registry
