Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), accountable for organic growth by identifying and building the next $1B business through partnerships and co-creating new business models and solutions that can be taken to their customers and ecosystem rather than solving singular internal issues. Act as the gateway to Hitachi's deep domain expertise in IT / OT to lead "One Hitachi" solutions.

  • Strategic Business Development: Lead the engagement and partner relationship building with C-Suite executives, specifically Fortune 250 companies, to discover, identify, and negotiate both the commercial strategy and technical architecture of collaborative enterprise incubation efforts achieving 120% of metrics & key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Strategic Partnerships: Commercially architected a $1B / 5-year "One Hitachi" RFP response that required collaborating between four Hitachi business units and several ecosystem partners.
  • Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy: Originated a GTM plan targeting public transit operators that utilized FTA funding to breakdown customer capex barriers to connected vehicle and fleet solutions, driving technology adoption, and creating new revenue opportunities.

Divisional chief technology officer (CTO), managed the day-to-day engineering and technology decision making and strategic direction of an organization that provides world-class locomotive & train dynamics solutions both domestically and internationally - 175 global and cross-functional team members (of which 115 directly report through me) with $40M in revenue.

  • Business Leadership: Worked collaboratively, with our site leadership team, in developing & supporting the strategic vision of our organization by ensuring the right people and project teams were in place to yield optimal business results. Selected, developed, and grew a competent team of managers and individual contributors, resulting in the division's ability to deliver on its customer commitments (scaled from 70 to 175 FTEs).
  • Technology Strategy: Pioneered product R&D to continuously improve product quality and the value story for the KB portfolio by introducing 1, 3, and 7-year Strategic Technology Research Analysis and Planning (STRAP) and Multi-Generation Product Planning, aligning the customer's vision with the product roadmap resulting in closing 3 large long term multi-year contracts.
  • Develop New Products: Masterminded the execution, architecture, and 4 vendor system integration of the core technology powering the world's first fully autonomous freight train (RTIO AutoHaul Program in Australia).
  • Business Management: Augmented business development to close sales; given the complexity of the product and the array of engineering services provided by KB, engineering pre-sales support was critical for closing large contracts and ensuring proper customer expectations. This resulted in a 60% decrease in program delays and payment disputes.
