 Supervise the day shift of a busy urban emergency room. Coordinate and monitor staffing for all shifts, collaborate with physicians, participate in developing, reviewing and updating department policies and procedures. Identify and implement best practices to provide improved quality care and services. Assess and monitor clinical nursing practice for optimal patient care. Utilize evidence based practice within the department. Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care results. Assist with the development of staff members.

Supervise block one and two nursing students completing clinical rotations in the hospital, at extended care facilities and in laboratory settings. Responsible for providing instruction to clinical students and supervising and evaluating student performance in various clinic settings.

Assess patients health problems and needs in an acute care and emergency room setting.  Advocate for patients and their families as needed.  Treat patients in varying stages of health.  Triage patients and prioritize their care.  Work with physicians and supportive staff to care for and educate patients and their families.

Worked as an LPN on a busy medical surgical floor. Assess patients health problems and needs in an acute care setting under the supervision of an RN. Duties included assessing patients, implementing care plans, working with physicians and ancillary staff. Care for post operative and medical patients in varying stages of health. Advocate for patients and their families to ensure that the best possible care is delivered to the patient in a timely fashion.
