Jason Grosfeld attended Amherst College, a private liberal arts school in Massachusetts. After graduating with his Bachelor's in English, he enrolled at the Columbia University School of Business in New York City, where he received his MBA. Mr. Grosfeld subsequently joined BlackRock, a fixed income investment firm, as an analyst. BlackRock is the world’s largest asset manager, and is headquartered in New York City. After a successful tenure at BlackRock, Jason Grosfeld joined HPB Associates, a value-based hedge fund in New York City. During the course of a three year period, he focused on the rapidly growing technology sector, including Internet companies. Mr. Grosfeld subsequently went into business on his own, investing in a variety of companies, including home builders, mortgage REITs, Internet technology, and digital music platforms. In 1999, Jason Grosfeld founded Softwax, an infrastructure support company with a focus on new media platforms, including the fast growing peer-to-peer (P2P) sector. Peer-to-peer was pioneered by Napster and has since become synonymous with a variety of computer networking applications, from tech development to social media interaction. Mr. Grosfeld was featured in an Interactive Week Magazine article on the topic, as well as a P2P report published by Forrester Research. Mr. Grosfeld is an active member of his community, contributing to a variety worthy causes. He enjoys basketball and skiing.
