Professional experience
Food safety, legal, and regulatory background developed across consulting, business ownership, and university environmental health and safety leadership, with experience spanning food and beverage compliance, public health programs, and campus risk management. Expertise includes federal and state food safety compliance planning, audit preparation, risk management, foodborne illness investigation, crisis intervention, laboratory analysis review, food allergen oversight, employee training, and expert witness testimony services. Experience also includes management of university food safety and public health programs, routine inspection of approximately 120 facilities, handling of foodborne illness complaints, restricted employee and return-to-work processes, fire safety inspections, and review of construction plans and site build-outs. Additional consulting work has supported campus risk management functions related to food safety, water quality, building design, and acting REHS responsibilities, supported by strong familiarity with Southern California county health department requirements and mobile food facility oversight. - Stone & Dean LLP. I have been retained by Stone and Dean to represent the defendant, Albertsons. Single individual that stated she became infected with Salmonella, and consequential long hospital stay and continuing health issues from a pot pie made at the deli at the Albertsons located in Laguna Hills, CA. Strick liability and negligence claim. Case in mediation as of now.

- Spencer Fane LLP. I have been retained as a food safety expert in a case of an allergic reaction by the plaintiff to cashews in the non bread served at this Indian restaurant. The plaintiff had and extended stay in the ER and is suing for damages. Plaintiff states that he told the restaurant of his allergy to cashews, but and they agreed to accommodate, yet they still served him bread that was contaminated with cashews. Case is on going now and in mediation.
