I'm currently teaching de-tracked 9th grade English with a fabulous, collaborative PLC team, and several sections of our 12th grade Expository Reading and Writing Course #ERWC. Informally, I assist with the roll out of our district's 1:1 program, serving on our district wide Technology Advisory Group, and helping teachers integrate technology into their classrooms at my school site.

Leading and co-leading a variety of educational technology workshops for teachers getting 1:1 devices in their classrooms. Workshops I've taught have included: Social Media for Professional Growth, Blogging I, Blogging II, Dropbox for Collaboration, Live Binders, Lan School, Screencasting, Google Certification, Google Classroom, Google Forms, etc.

I also regularly attend and present at meetings of our district sponsored Innovative Teaching Network (ITN). And, I pilot test prospective hardware in my classroom, to consult with the IT team as needed on our District Technology Advisory committee.

CUE Rockstar Events: These 2-3 day small conferences with longer sessions allow teachers to get hands on with the digital pedagogy of progressive teaching. Rockstar lead learners run sessions all day, offering a new session topic each day. Specific sessions I've lead are listed in the presentations section below. I've been a Lead Learner at one or more Rockstar events annually since 2012.

1:1 Teaching

Teaching with 1:1 laptops for students since February of 2008. Co-Author of Power Up: Making the Shift to 1:1 Teaching and Learning with Diana Neebe (Stenhouse, 2015). Experience coaching colleagues new to 1:1 during ongoing district roll out of the i21 program. 

Common Core Standards

Teaching with CCSS since 2011 in 9th and 11th, and 12th grade English classes. Collaboratively writing CCSS curriculum with several grade level teams. Integrating CCSS literacy standards into graduate literacy methods courses, Integrating literacy and technology to meet CCSS expectations. Providing professional development about CCSS implementation.  

Google Apps

With an emphasis on the use of Google apps in secondary classrooms. I regularly present workshops on Google Forms and their educational applications, Google sheets for literacy, Gmail ninja, and Blogger for professional and classroom use.  Also proficient user of Youtube, Google Calendar, Google Maps, and various other Google tools. Google Certified Innovator since 2011. 

Social Media

I regularly help other educators get started with Twitter, blogging, and classroom Facebook pages. Proficient with Instagram,  and other photo sharing platforms. Experience co-moderating and guest-moderating various educational Twitter chats. Experienced with Google Meets for educational conversations.
