      • Designed and developed a partnership integration with StateFarm using AWS lambdas, API Gateways and other cloud native technologies which realized $25MM in additional revenue per year.

      • Managed a distributed team of 10 developers from across the US and Mexico, conducting code reviews, sprint planning, retrospectives, and project planning. Directly reported to CEO then Vice President of Engineering.

      • Rewrote the data collection system to scrapy, python and AWS Cloud-native technologies which resulted in an increase in speed (800%) and reliability (99.87% Success Rate) while decreasing operational costs by 34%.

      • Created a highly-scalable e-commerce data collection system that collects product review data across more than 10,000 websites in under 4 hours of compute time.

        The library allowed us to speed up the time to delivery by 4X and decrease reported bugs by 9X.
      • Created an affiliate tracking pixel that was called over 1 million times per day for proper tracking of hits, conversions, and other data related to the advertisement.
      • Created a caching and delivery system for use with the tracking pixel which allowed us to scale passed the current limit of 500,000 records per hour which resulted in a decrease of spending by 150%.

      • Redesigned over 200 client websites that allowed them to properly deliver their products, sales message, or branded information. My clients, on average, saw an increase in lead generation of 40% and increased sales by 25%.
      • Migrated over 100 client hosted servers to Amazon Web Services. This saved on average, 50% of operating cost and increased uptime by 30%.
      • Created a customizable phone system utilizing Asterisk PBX which allowed the client to fully automate 80% of their current customer service calls thus reducing cost by an estimated 67%.
      • Created a customized US patent search engine that would use algorithms created by the client to assign certain monetary value to each patent. This system allowed their clients to select patents that were available for purchase to increase their current innovation pipeline and spur new ideas and products

      Notable technical achievements

      CLOUD-NATIVE WEB SCRAPING SOLUTION (02/2019 - PRESENT)

      • This was a redesign of an existing system which would retrieve pricing information from several websites. The V1 system would crawl roughly 10,000 sites per hour. The technologies used in the original version were PHP, MySQL, and CodeIgniter
      • The redesigned system took an instrumentation and cloud-native first approach. This resulted in the ability to crawl roughly 100,000 sites per hour with an upper spend limit on containers.
      • Technologies Used: Scrapy, python, Golang. The cloud native AWS components are SQS, ECS (Docker), Kinesis, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch (Metrics & Dashboards), Elasticsearch Service and MySQL

      PATENT SEARCH SYSTEM (08/2015 - PRESENT)

      • This system would use algorithms created by the client to assign certain monetary values to each patent. This system allowed their clients to select patents that were available for purchase to increase their current innovation pipeline and spur new ideas and products.
      • Technology Used: PHP, MySQL, Elasticsearch

      CUSTOMIZABLE CACHING SYSTEM (03/2011 - 08/2017)

      • This system improved load times by over 400% and reduced bandwidth consumption by over 150%. This resulted in 27% lower monthly server cost.
      • Technology Used: PHP, In-House Developed Apache Module (C)
