Techie Goodness

I've been using my business, marketing, and technology skills to identify and execute key business strategies since 1998. With my current employer, I started the push to redefine the company's strategy and worked with key stakeholders throughout the company to manage the initiative.   I understand business technology problems from multiple levels.  I can code and speak to software engineers to remove technical barriers, have worked with key stakeholders across the company, and can translate that information and requirements to executives in an efficient manner.  I get the big picture and understand the effect of corporate financials.   I was a founding member of a Dot Com company,  We spotted a trend in the industry and received $100k from an angel investor for the project.  Unfortunately, we were not able to acquire first round money before our first products were ready to be launched and we ran out of money after two years.
I've been teaching or training since 1990.  I taught elementary and middle school (including Spanish bilingual) classes for seven years and taught at the University level for a year and a half.  At my current job, I did individual and group training on our information systems, helped plan and organize training conferences, and am constantly training peers on new technologies, such as how to blog. I've led trainings/presentations in front of the entire company, in small groups, and online.  My blog, Build Your Fan Base, is all about teaching individuals and organizations how to use social media tools.
Web Marketing
I have an Masters in Business Administration from the University of Denver.   I've been running Web campaigns since 1998.  I've created and managed over 500 online campaigns including email newletters, Web promotions, ads, events, print-Web campaigns, and many more.  Over the past year, I've been heavily involved in social media marketing campaigns ranging from promoting films, to Web sites and blog, to cause-oriented campaigns.
Web Design/Programming
I have a Masters in Computer Information Systems from the University of Denver.   I started building Web sites in 1997 and haven't stopped yet. I can hand code HTML pages with the best of them and have built enterprise and ecommerce sites using ASP and (C#).  Before switching over to Web marketing, I helped lay out and build the company's portal infrastructure.  We are still using that framework to run several enterprise and ecommerce sites.   I'm proficient in Web programming, databases, teaching Web design, and Web strategy.  The majority of my Web design experience has been in a corporate environment working with key stakeholders at every level, including CEOs.
