Lance is a Consultant at Sand Cherry Associates, with 15+ years of engineering, management and product strategy experience spanning the wireless, telecom, broadband and medical verticals. Lance is an integral part of our firm's ongoing success in the complete solutions of the product, including the requirement gathering, task breakdown, specification generation, hardware/software development, Agile sprint development and execution, along with various testing and verification techniques to deliver a best in class product to the customer.
Lance has led numerous engagements to create and implement internet solutions for passengers on aircraft to stadiums and entertainment venues up to 70,000 people. Lance also had let IoT products for Smart-city products that deliver solar powered energy to the energy grids of major cities on the east coast. He has let product analysis of new emerging technologies for Charter communications, and develop a communication systems for the coach-to-coach headsets for NFL teams to improve the performance of those systems. His more recent work has centered on building products and solutions in the medical technology arenas to enable customers to automate the identifiable processes and improve the process flow of the operating room experience.
Prior to Sand Cherry Associates, Lance was the Engineering Manager of Product Development at Vaalbara LLC, where they were responsible for developing traceable medical equipment for use in surgery along with the data analytics associated with the life span of the equipment used in the operating room .
Professional Experience
- Engineering Manager: Creating system and functional requirements for MVP product launch and development. Leading software development scrums with developers to incrementally build the feature set of the product. Developing a patent portfolio for unique devices for use in the medical industry. Define and developing prototypes and development concepts for proof of the technology.
- Senior Engineering Manager: •Developed dimensioning guidelines, build instructions, deployment documents, and field-testing methods for CBRS small cell deployment and managed the site installations. Allocated CBRS frequencies to deployments via SAS as a CPI during field deployments. Deployed, tested, and commissioned CBRS systems for the NFL, Caesars casinos, and Syracuse university. Developed physical SIM and eSIM solutions for CBRS devices for ease of deployments.
- Sr. Wireless Engineer: Research of new wireless technologies, testing of vendor products, and implementation of system solutions in industrial, commercial, and educational environments using licensed/unlicensed wireless bands to meet customer needs for telecommunications and IoT services. Performance and comparison studies on Wi-Fi 6 and P-LTE (using CBRS). Testing of Ruckus, Nokia, Ericsson, and JMA solutions for CBRS applications. RF simulation and in building designs using iBwave for CBRS and Wi-Fi customer solutions. Obtained CPI Certification (Certified Professional Installer) for CBRS deployments.
- Sr IoT RAN Development and Project Engineer: Solution development of IoT and Smart City products from design to deployment of Wi-Fi solutions in outdoor rural and city environments. Developed products and processes to create IoT product deployments in cities and rural areas. Created deployment plans that reduced deployment time of the network to the customer. Deployed IoT products to cities around the world, providing Wi-Fi in areas without 4G cellular services. Instituted troubleshooting techniques and process flows to quickly locate issues in the network elements.
