Served as chairperson for Visual and Performing Arts department. Developed and delivered online music instruction. Recently taught choir and piano at Citrus Hill High School in Perris, CA. Duties include develop and deliver instruction using research based best practices to students at various levels of English proficiency. Coordinated and implemented high school choral and piano lab programs, and middle school choral programs. Responsibilities included selection of music repertoire, delivery of vocal/piano music instruction, fundraising and organization of concerts, festivals, and related travel expenditures. Other responsibilities included collaboration with faculty and administration to meet districtwide goals and state standards compliance. Served as Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support facilitator. Recently served on Ethnic Studies district committee. Served as VVTA site representative.

Led corporate worship and rehearsed band/orchestra for three services a week. Recruited and supervised all lead positions in Department of Arts in Worship including Adult and Kid’s Choir Directors, Sound/Tech, Video, Drama, Band/Orchestra Directors, Expressive Worship, and Administrative Assistants.  Directed Adult Choir and selected and arranged music for AM worship services. Trained and supervised PM worship leaders. Successfully staffed and produced Easter dramatic musical “Bow the Knee,” Christmas dramatic musical “The Journey,” and Kidz Choir Christmas musical “The Next Noel.” Scheduled and supervised all special music. Arranged music and conducted full orchestral program.

Objective

To pursue a career as a professional educator/administrator at a secondary school or university.

Summary

My teaching career spans the past 20 years, including my church ministry with children, youth and adults.  I directed choir in the California public school system while concurrently leading worship and directing adult choir at my home church.  I directed choir and taught classroom piano at Citrus Hill High School. I teach private piano. I enjoy performing all styles of music from contemporary worship, classical compositions, musical theater, vocal jazz, and foreign language pieces.  My mission is ensure music and arts education is accessible to all students.

Published dissertation titled "STEAM Charter Schools: The Role of the Arts in Developing Creativity and Innovation within the Public School Curriculum" in 2012.

Presented at California League of Schools STEAM Camp in 2017.

Served as a Brandman University and Azusa Pacific University dissertation committee member.

Presented at University of La Verne 2013 research poster session.
