My skills and knowledge help me understand the individual’s needs, and design a suitable training program for them. I am flexible in my approach, and can provide training in groups and on an individual basis also. I follow smooth transitional training programs with gradually increasing intensity. Understanding the human physical structure and its complexities; I feel it provides me an opportunity to give personalised sessions, and establish healthy relations with my clients.

I am well versed with various training modules such as circuit training, body conditioning and resistance and I specialise in obesity prevention, injury prevention and nutritional management. I ensure that my clients are comfortable with all sessions, and adhere to the program for maximum efficiency. I have a solid knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology and exercise physiology.

Skills & Achievements

My previous work in hospitality has given me excellent people skills and I love working with and meeting new people. My vast management experience also aids me to be assertive and proactive in completing tasks and achieving goals and targets.
I enjoy regular exercise at my local gym to keep fit and healthy and to help retain my vast knowledge acquired from my personal training and gym instructor qualifications.

In addition to my current work history, I also work as a commercial and residential window cleaner. This is a business I've established, developed and maintained off my own back. I also gained my IPAF license to allow me to operate a wide range of powered access equipment including 150 feet GENIE cherry pickers.

Gym Instructor / Personal Trainer

I have a total of five years’ experience in gym instruction and personal training and a further 10 years’ experience in swimming teaching, coaching and general sports guidance.

After completing my YMCA gym instruction award in 2004, I found I had a love for knowledge of the human body, the way our muscles work and passing this knowledge onto others to aid them in achieving their personal goals.

I went on to pass my REPS levels 2 and 3 and further built on my knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, nutritional and dietary needs and the muscular make-up of the human body.

After this I put my knowledge into practice working for Chris Whitehouse at Project FIT Body Conditioning Centre in January 2011. During my time here I built up a good client base for personal training and my duties included:

o General up-keep and maintenance of gym equipment.
o Performing in-depth inductions for new clients, ensuring they have a good knowledge of all gym equipment, upholding the utmost health and safety standards.
o Building up a good relationship with clients so they feel comfortable and at ease through communication.

o Producing fitness programmes that are tailored to the client and relevant to their fitness needs.
o Identifying primary and long-term objective(s) / goal(s) of the client.
o Managing, evaluating and improving performance through physical activity.
o Identifying any mobility impairments.
o Nutritional advice and weight management were also key skills I've acquired.

As I progressed and became more knowledgeable and experienced, I initiated my own personal one-to-one and group PT sessions with various different clients in various different gyms since 2012. These include:

  • -  Langley Leisure Centre, (Langley, BERKSHIRE)

  • -  Montem Lane Spa and Fitness, (Slough, BERKSHIRE)

    I also trained in homes and outdoor areas to include circuit training, body conditioning and resistance work. Since this time, I have developed an impressive and loyal client-base.

Working front of house at this busy family run restaurant allowed me to build on my love of providing customers with the very best in service, friendly advice and building a good regular clientele for the restaurant. I thrived on the excellent customer feedback we received day in day out and I was able to apply my knowledge of the different cuts of meat and methods of cooking from my previous employment as a Royal Butcher.

My hard work and enthusiasm was soon recognised and saw me promoted to floor manager. My duties included:

o Open/close of the premises including full cash-up on a daily basis.
o Producing realistic daily targets based on past data.
o Producing weekly staff rotas ensuring we were correctly staffed in order to maximise service and keep staffing cost to a minimum.
o Training and guidance of new staff and management of all floor staff on any given shift.
o Maximising team moral and upholding the friendly family atmosphere.
o Placing weekly orders for all beverages whilst keeping to budgets.
o I was also able to assist in the kitchen with food production when there was any staff shortage due to my qualifications with food. I am also a keen cook in my spare time and have a wide knowledge of cooking.

At the start of my working career, I was fortunate enough to secure employment at the Royal Windsor Farm Shop, owned by Queen Elizabeth II and located on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
I quickly put myself forward to further myself by achieving my NVQ level 2 in butchery and did this 6 months ahead of my designated time.

I excelled in all areas of butchery and have a vast knowledge of all meats both in butchery and in cooking.
I was fortunate enough to meet Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip in person and talk about my experience as a Royal Butcher.
