Project Experience:
- Oman Trading International - Project Management/Data Migration Lead
Haroon worked on OTI as the Lead Data Migration specialist. This entailed migrating data from OTI's current trading system (Vitol) through to the new system being implemented (SAP ByD). This proved to be extremely challenging as the data hadn't been cleansed for years. Haroon's role was to analyze the data thoroughly for any gaps or discrepancies before populating the data into the new system being implemented. This required Haroon to liaise with OTI personnel to obtain missing data or to cleanse existing data. Alongside Haroon's Data Migration role he was project managing the overall project which entailed: project planning, meeting scheduling, document creation & workshop facilitating.
- SSE - Oracle BI Consultant
Haroon was assigned to the SSE project in an advisory role to help SSE make the correct decision on the proposed plans that had been put forward by 3rd party companies on the structure and architecture of there newly designed reporting solution. Haroon liaised with many individuals within SSE to give recommendations on the proposed solution. After extensive analysis of the entire solution (OBIA/OBIEE Stack) by Haroon the recommendations where accepted by SSE with the solution being pushed back until the amendments had been made before being presented once again to key stakeholders within SSE.
- Santander UK - Oracle Service Cloud Technical Lead
Haroon’s role covered the initial requirements gathering phase of the project where he was put in the awkward situation of providing the designs for the Service Cloud solution with out any clear direction. However Haroon proved to be extremely versatile and adaptable by turning around the designs and providing these to the business which were agreed upon. Haroon then scoped out the level of development and provided a project plan to the business with all the key dates of how long the proposed solution would take to implement. With the design piece and scoping agreed upon Haroon began the development of the site using his own technical knowledge from previous experiences but by also learning on the job and excelling outside his comfort zone to bring the solution to life. Haroon worked with many different technical web development languages such as HTML,CCS and PHP to name a few.
Haroon also took part in the planning of the workshops that were to be run to show the development and progress being made on the solution to the business. Haroon was requested to run part of the workshop to run the business through the new look and feel that the Service Cloud solution would be taking. He was meet with some resistance on the way the solution was progressing and the impact the new solution would have on old processes. However through Haroon’s clear communication and persuasive manner in drawing on the benefits of the new solution the business could see the real value that would be added and agreed to continue on the path Haroon had advised.
- City Of London Corporation - Oracle BI Developer
Haroon was brought in as a Business Intelligence Developer to help aid the closure of the City of London project. Haroon’s role was to troubleshoot in depth technical reporting and metadata issues that had been outstanding for quite some time. Alongside Haroon being brought into troubleshoot he helped in the development of the final few reports under the Property Management module. Haroon showed his true technical ability in getting all issues resolved in a quick and timely matter and liaised with the client in ensuring the fixes were implemented correctly and working as expected following the rework. Haroon’s contribution to the project proved invaluable in tying up loose ends.
- City Of London Corporation - Oracle Technical Trainer
Haroon was brought into this role due to past experience of designing, developing and managing the delivery of Oracle Technical Training. Haroon’s role was to scope out the training that was required by the client and draw up a suitable training package that would cover the clients requirements. Once the requirements were agreed upon Haroon worked as part of a two man team to develop the material that would be used for delivery. The material consisted of Slide deck’s with contextual information as well as exercises to aid the learning process. Haroon helped with the delivery of two different forms of training and both being meet with positive feedback on the improvement in the clients knowledge.
