Nicolas Pesola first developed an interest in sustainability and environmental advocacy while in high school, when he completed an investigation of climate change for one of his classes. During his senior year of college, for his capstone class, he led 30 students in an environmental problem-solving project that examined the risks of hydraulic fracturing. Also as an undergraduate, Pesola was an Environmental Project Leader for the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG). Today, as a Master's degree candidate in Sustainability Management at Columbia University, Nicolas Pesola investigates ways for businesses to increase energy efficiency while promoting a healthy bottom line. Aside from his work in the classroom, Nicolas Pesola has held several professional positions in his field. As a Consultant for Power Management Concepts, LLC, he provides advice on business development. Working with the firm, he conducted market analyses of Mission Critical Industry to identify new areas for growth and opportunity. Pesola also held the role of Analyst with the start-up Sollega, Inc., where he examined market data and enhanced the company's sales database to boost productivity by 35 percent. In his free time, Nicolas Pesola enjoys exercising, honing his investment skills, and reading, particularly The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
