  • Launched and successfully established the Shanghai Learning Institute in 2016, transforming Bank of China's learning approach and providing comprehensive curricula-based training programs for bank-wide business lines. Responsible for all professional training academies (Wealth, Private Banking, Corporate, Risk, Green Finance, Technology Finance etc.)
  • Collaborated with business GMs to develop and implement learning strategies, focusing on key roles, learner centricity, interactive curricula, blended learning, and scalable training methods.
  • Developed and executed 130 full curricula training programs in 2023, covering role, talent, customer, and strategic development, benefiting over 20,000 employees and supporting revenue generation and risk management.
  • Worked with the Chairman and Party Committee to enhance leadership effectiveness, embed BOC values, build professional capability and  optimise virtual live training channels (over 100,000 leaders trained over 5 years, and 30,000 professional employees in 2023)
  • Received international recognition for the quality of training through awards from Stevie, ATD, Brandon Hall, and Training Magazine in China.
  • Implemented a rigorous talent assessment process to identify and fast-track young talent into senior managerial positions, utilizing benchmarked market assessments and performance data.
  • Established partnerships with CEIBS (leadership) and Jiaotong (technology) to support research and training aligned with government policy.
  • Hosted and trained senior government ministers from Belt and Road countries, showcasing Chinese culture, business practices, and supporting Bank of China's business development.
  • Provided customer training to support BOC's customers, resulting in cross-sales and deposit uplift.
  • Remodeled college facilities and services to create an international environment and enhance customer service, including the establishment of an innovation center, library, and flexible classroom space.

  • Developed and implemented a comprehensive role-based learning strategy for Financial Crime, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and embedding learning into a continuous professional development curriculum.
  • Successfully delivered learning to 150,000 employees by February 2016, meeting program milestones and deadlines.
  • Collaborated with key external/internal stakeholders to develop role-specific learning modules, ongoing professional assessments, consequence management protocols, and top-up learning initiatives.
  • Liaised weekly with the FRB Monitor to ensure full alignment on HSBC’s approach to overcoming cultural & professional risk capability problems.
  • In parallel continued the transformation of  learning curricula to focus on business-specific outcomes for strategically significant roles, such as Relationship Managers in the Private Bank, Corporate Relationship Managers, Branch Managers, and Risk Managers.
