Accountable for the effective, efficient and timely delivery of the PN safety and environmental systems and all safety requirements in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, the role covers all 14 operational sites and all mainline operations and 3rd party interfaces in these regions. Responsibilities: • Communicate, direct and gain support for the implementation of strategies and plans targeted at improving the performance of the Team under my management and work with mypeers to improve the overall performance of the business. • Development of the team of direct reports to ensure focus is achieved on safe work practices and delivering the PN Safety Strategic plan. • Assist as required in the development, planning and execution of the PN HS&E Strategy. • Ensure that Health Safety and Environment strategy for projects improvement, development and implementation aligns with the Pacific National strategy and focuses on the core elements of risk. • Monitor safety performance throughout theregion, and report on adverse trends and work with the key line managers to develop specific strategies to address any adverse outcomes • Lead cultural change consistent with the value of safety “Home Safely Every Day” and the Asciano Sustainability Charter. Communicate clear safety performance requirements and standards. Mentor others in safety leadership.. • Actively engage with the operational teams, promoting safe behaviours and practices and promoting strong risk awareness and engaging employees in safety improvement. • Identify present and anticipate future business risks and continually work to reduce the risk profile of Pacific National. • Implementation of Pacific National Integrated Safety Management System and associated processes, in accordance with AS4801, ISO 14001, and the NAT Tool. • Develop improved investigation capability in the operations team
