Saskatoon StarPhoenix

- Coordinate Bridges, a weekly magazine. Involves writing the majority of the local copy (longform profiles), communicating with freelancers, doing layout and generally planning the entire publication.

- Act as City Editor for the   newspaper one day a week assigning stories, coordinating reporter efforts and making editorial decisions

- Shoot, edit and publish videos on any number of subjects for the newspaper's website and social media accounts, in particular larger projects that require a more experienced editing touch

- Use Wordpress to maintain the StarPhoenix's website through the posting and arranging of content from both our in-house reporters and around the Postmedia chain, with a focus on driving engagement and creating a loyal reader base.

- Make use of the StarPhoenix's social media accounts to promote the brand and drive traffic to the website.

- Act as a Jack-of-all-trades within the newsroom, with a wide array of skills allowing me to contribute wherever I'm need

The Bangkok Post

- Spent 13 weeks as a full time reporter for Thailand's largest English-language daily newspaper

- Gained valuable experience working in a foreign market and adapting not only to the newsroom environment, but to a culture completely different from my own

- Covered all manner of lifestyle topics including film, travel and books as well as harder news areas such as human rights activism


Development Team QA

Radical Entertainment

- Worked closely with a staff of approx. 100 designers and programmers to ensure bugs and glitches did not arise as changes were made to videogames under development.

- Worked on two titles: Prototype (2009) and another game that was cancelled by Activision in 2010.



Electronic Arts

- Tested a wide range of EA games on multiple platforms. 

- Shifted from team to team as the workload required.

- Provided updates to higher management to ensure milestones were met
