Role within Gas Plant Accounting to handle TIPS current month and PPAs, also Financial Accounting role and backlog of owner inquiries. Superuser of TIPS including setting up additional plants as needed and reconfigurations to match operations and contractual changes. Built and utilized QQM(Business Objects) for reporting and exporting of TIPS data needs. Financial role of reporting, estimate preparation, variance explanations and adjustments. Supporting role providing analysis to Commercial which was beneficial in renegotiating contracts that increased Hess income. Transitioned work to India or others where possible.

Responsible for North Dakota and West Texas plants including TIPS allocations and settlements plus invoicing and payables.  Frequent operational, legal, and contractual changes requiring new setups in TIPS and/or SAP.  Grew the team as needed by adding contractors to handle heavy workloads.  Also transitioned employees into new roles and groups as appropriate. Heavily worked with two public accounting firms in developing the midstream business which resulted in IPO. Finished the implementation of TIPS 3.0 to 6.0(new database structure) and involved with the transition to new SAP including new owner settlement method. Built refreshable income statement and analysis reports for multiple companies.  Continually implemented additional and improved controls. Handled many third party and internal audits and owner inquiries.

Initially responsible for building the accounting department of a start-up company.  This fast-paced role expanded my knowledge of accounting, midstream processing, field operations and asset construction. Built plant allocation models including settlement statements, invoices, journal entries, and metrics in excel for multiple plants.  Designed, implemented and accounted for these in Waterfield system. Lead role converting from Quickbooks to Solomon accounting software for multiple companies, including development of a standardized chart of accounts for more efficient consolidations. Volume measurement responsibilities including implementing PGAS software. Discovered and collected $500,000 of third party measurement errors. Major contributor in developing automated billing engine improving accuracy and timeliness while reducing costs and accelerating collections. Daily accounting operations-accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management. Financial and operational monthly reporting to internal and external customers. Contract administrator including Access database design. Fixed asset tracking including reimbursables, capitalized interest allocations and depreciation. Joint interest billing and settlements, budgeting, forecasting, taxes, and audits. Also accounted for other affiliated businesses including a refinery, compressor manufacturer, and NGL marketing.

Managed the Gas Marketing Accounting team in recording pipeline purchases, sales and monthly reporting. Built a strong, high performing team to accomplish aggressive goals with minimal supervision. Developed tools using SQL to analyze, consolidate, and present reporting packages out of Gas Master and SAP. Daily accounting operations-accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash forecasting. Inter-company reconciliations including involvement with acquisitions and divestitures. Liaison between scheduling and production accounting areas.

Responsible for monthly plant allocations and settlements for large and complex East Texas Revenue Accounting area and team development. Strong gas plant accounting theory involved due to systems limitations and variety of assets. TIPS plant allocation software conversions, updates, and testing. Processed TIPS reruns from litigation and owner inquiries. SQL programming to develop reports out of GMS software.

Assigned to ExxonMobil's SAP transition team to move from Exxon's financial mainframe system to a new consolidated SAP system after the merger.  My prior knowledge of Exxon accounting and financials reporting greatly contributed to the success of the project. Served as liaison between accounting department and systems department and identified accounting requirements related to production and gas plant accounting. Heavy programming and accounting theory involved.

Focused on a technical path, various opportunities were sought to improve my overall accounting knowledge, gain experience with a large company and draw on my educational background.

 Gas Actuals Financial Accountant - Prepared monthly gas income statement and management package including variance analysis to estimates for production assets and gas plants. Tracked accruals in self-developed Access database. Major achievements included first time reconciliation of inherited large suspense account and identifying and resolving system problems and enhancements.

 Gas Plant Accountant - Plant allocations and monthly accounting entries including frequent verification of schematics on platforms and plants. Participated in development and implementation of a new Bulletin Board system for external retrieval of plant settlement statements.
