The late Dr. Elliott W. Eisner (2002), acclaimed author and distinguished Stanford professor, wrote, "The ultimate aim of education is to enable individuals to become the architects of their own education and through that process to continually reinvent themselves" (p. 239). It is this precise statement which inspires me and challenges me daily to help others achieve their academic goals.

The many personal responsibilities and demands on 21st century learners are oftentimes overwhelming without the support, caring communication and attention required during the learning process. What I offer as an educator are my experiences in education and administration, my strong communication skills and my technological aptitudes. I maintain these while striving to reach learners effectively, efficiently and, most importantly, with a sincere and caring disposition. When I teach and interact with others in education, I picture myself in the learner's position. I consider each learner's motivations, goals, skill levels, disabilities, backgrounds, and so on, and I work carefully to craft an honest response or a product that guides the learner towards a comfortable place where understanding, engagement, learning, achievement, reflection and continual reinvention flourish.
