Tom started in the trades in 1982 as a Carpenter (rough framing/drywall).  In 1987, Tom became a cement (brick and block) mason and foundation specialist. From there, Tom became an equipment operator (backhoe's and front end loaders).  In 1993, Tom was a plumbing apprentice for 2 years.  Tom then joined VJS Construction Services as a general laborer/foreman for 5 years. From 1999 to 2003, Tom owned and operated Ungerecht Bros. Construction.  He then rejoined VJS Construction Services as a carpenter foreman and moved on to become a Superintendent for VJS. In 2012, Tom was awarded the Newsmaker of the Year Super Super Award from The Daily Reporter for guiding crews to a 96.74 percent recycling rate on the renovation of the Wunder Hall project in Milwaukee.  In December, 2013, Tom joined Stevens Construction as Superintendent.
