• Negotiated the licensing of copyrighted content for all Baltimore Sun Media Group properties.

     o Experienced in the following license usages: Publishing and editorial use; Film, video and TV broadcast use; Internet website use; Internal use; Marketing and promotional use and Personal use.

     o Successfully negotiated licenses with numerous domestic and international organizations. A few worthy of note are: The History Channel’s Brad Meltzer’s Lost History; The Jason Bateman/Focus Features film ‘Bad Words’; The World War II Foundation film: Omaha Beach: Honor and Sacrifice; REELZChannel’s JFK: The Smoking Gun; ESPN Films: 30 for 30; Investigations Discovery; BBC; Rolling Stone Magazine; Baltimore Magazine

     o Licensing sales totaled $70k in 2014.

• Worked as an archivist, researcher and digitizer in the Sun’s digital photo and microfilm libraries.

• Worked as the project lead and oversaw the workflow between four organizations and one in-house clerk. Responsibilities included managing the prioritizing, labeling, shipping, digitizing and cataloging of over 800,000 archival Baltimore Sun photos.

     o To date this project has generated $2,500,000 and continues to generate revenue. It has also created the opportunity for long-tail revenue streams through: photo books, photo reprints, photo licensing, countless blogs and newspaper subscriptions.

• Managed the creation of two different photo reprint and licensing platforms. To date the Baltimore Sun leads all nine Tribune Publishing properties in reprints and licensing sales.

• Managed the creation of the Baltimore Sun Store which is a one-stop shop for photo reprints, licenses, page reprints, custom reprints, plaques, books and back copies.

     o The store has generated over $2,000,000 since 2010.

• Managed the concept creation, research, design, publication, marketing and fulfillment of five books: Days Remembered, Maryland Exposed, The Darkroom, Written Under Fire and Man in the Street.

     o Since December 2012 these books have generated over $250,000 in new revenue.

• Managed the advertising department's  cost-per-lead program.

     o This program annually generated $450,000 - $500,000 in new revenue.

• Represented the business development department on the Business Continuity - Disaster Recovery Planning Committee.

• Reviewed and reconciled monthly financial statements with supporting documentation.

• Processed and tracked payments to vendors via Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for accuracy.

• Reconciled sub-ledgers to the PeopleSoft Financials general ledger and resolved differences.

• Responsible for two teams of four account executives (AE's) in two remote locations.

• Managed multiple advertising accounts for eight AE's.

• Assisted with account management of $6 million in advertising revenue.

• Responsible for following all AE's ad order tickets and agency ad schedules to correctly reserve ad space in The Baltimore Sun and it's special sections. This included proper billing.

• Responsible for working directly, on the AE's behalf, as a liaison between advertisers and The Sun's art department.
- Submitting creative requests to the art department for spec ads.
- Gathering ad copy.
- Forwarding the spec ads to the advertiser.
- Communicating the advertisers edits and revisions to the art department.
- Getting approvals on-time and prior to deadline.

• Responsible for resolving billing discrepancies for AE's between advertisers and The Sun's billing department.

• Designed media kits for the sales team highlighting successes.

• Responsible for taking the minutes during all meetings and sending them out to the sales teams in a timely manner.

• On a daily basis organized all hardcopy tearsheets in the tearsheet room.

• On a daily basis tracked and reported actual revenue vs. revenue goals for both satellite teams.

• On a daily basis used Microsoft Excel to organize revenue-tracking reports for all eight AE's.

• Responsible for creation of a “virtual office” which enabled AE's to manage account files, download sale promos, and fill paperwork out electronically while out in the field. This was eventually adopted throughout the entire local retail department.

• Responsible for training new AEs on the ordering process for ads.

• Part of a multiple award winning team that finished 105% to goal for 2008 fiscal year.
